Lloyd Ltd Alnwick branch to close
After much consideration, it is with regret that I announce that we have made the decision to close Lloyd Ltd’s Alnwick depot later this year as a result of internal restructuring.
Over the coming weeks, we will be preparing the branch for closure and are looking at options to retain the employment of the team. Lloyd Ltd Alnwick is located where our Kelso and Newcastle branches’ territories meet, which will enable our customers to be supported by their nearest Lloyd Ltd branch with little change in our service. We have already contacted our Alnwick customers directly to inform them of these changes.
This has been a very difficult decision to make and has not been taken lightly. Since we started on the Willowburn Industrial Estate in 1997 much has changed in the machinery industry, in our business and with technology. As a result, we are now better able to offer a flexible, mobile service to our customers on their premises, which typically does not require a building in which to carry out the work.
Our engineers make daily use of technologies such as telematics, online diagnostics and mobile apps, which enable them to repair and service machines on site, which is often more convenient for our customers. Where a workshop is needed, our Kelso and Newcastle branches have industry-leading facilities to continue to provide the highest standards of service and manufacturer-trained support that our customers have enjoyed from our Alnwick branch.
On behalf of the team at Lloyd Ltd Alnwick, I would like to thank our customers for your business and hope that Lloyd Ltd can continue to be of service in future. I would also like to thank the Alnwick branch team for their hard work and support over the years which is why we have so many loyal customers across the area. I have no doubt that the Kelso and Newcastle teams will be able to build on the strong foundations they have created.
