ARROWBUILD EXTENDS DEVELON FLEET WITH LLOYD LTD
Our valued customer Arrowbuild/Arrowhaul has continued to invest in their construction machinery fleet to support their growing business. Since the start of 2024, Owen Hutchinson, owner of both companies, has purchased 14 new Develon excavators, making this the biggest Develon order yet for Lloyd Ltd Bishop Auckland. Two machines were already delivered earlier this year – a DX140 and a DX300, both large crawler excavators – and these 12 further machines will be heading out over the next few days, ranging from DX27, DX35, DX62 and DX85 mini-excavators up to the bigger DX140 and DX225 models. He also opted for a DX100W “rubber duck”, the first such wheel excavator he has purchased, as the company works on a number of projects where a road-legal machine is needed to travel short distances between sites.
Owen commented, “We run from 30-tonne machines down to micro-diggers for both our own construction and our plant hire businesses. Our main fleet covers 6, 8 and 14-tonne machines, but we also have five 20-tonners and one 30-tonne model which give us the lifting power we need for heavy civil engineering projects. They go through a lot of work on site so it’s best to have a big machine for the efficiency. The different machines all have different strengths – the 14-tonne digger has excellent reach, as does the new version of the DX85. This investment ensures we have a wide range of machines to cover all types of work, with several of these machines being additions to our fleet, not just replacements for older models.”
